Be part of some historic adventures, narrated by Steve Nichol, past president of the B.C. Aviation Museum, who will be presenting two captivating stories. Starting with the fascinating life of the Hawaii Martin Mars water bomber, the largest Allied flying boat ever built by the US Navy prior to WW11. After being decommissioned this marvel of aviation engineering had a long history of fighting fires on Vancouver Island.
Second will be the gripping adventure of his personal high-seas rescue in 1980. Steve’s ease, wit and outstanding delivery of this harrowing and miraculous rescue will have you gripping your seat and gasping for breath as he leads you through the minute-by-minute rescue.
The final activity will be to have fun testing your history knowledge with the hilarious Fact or Fiction Contest where you try to identify mystery artifacts and their uses.
Light refreshments will also be served.
